Description
Unlike other coping questionnaires, the CERQ focuses on an individual’s thoughts following a negative event. This easy-to-administer, 36-item self-report tool measures nine cognitive coping strategies.
Developed from theoretical and empirical bases, it identifies individual strategies and compares them to population norms. The CERQ can be used across age groups, both in normal and clinical populations, to assess general cognitive styles and responses to specific events.
